CONDITION ASSESSMENT

Profile Powerline Inc. specializes in above-grade condition assessments for existing overhead powerline systems. These assessments are essential for maintaining system integrity, safety, and reliability.

During an assessment, a certified Powerline Technician (PLT) conducts a visual inspection of each structure. Photos are taken, and key details are recorded, including:

  • Pole height and class

  • Pole age and type

  • Framing type

  • Installed equipment (e.g., transformers)

Any deficiencies identified may include:

  • Rotten or broken crossarms

  • Damaged tie wires

  • Cracked or leaking insulators

  • Weathered poles or bird damage

  • Broken conductor strands

  • Electrical tracking or burn marks

  • Loose or missing hardware

  • Overgrown vegetation

  • And more

All findings are compiled into a formal report, which can be used for repair and maintenance planning.

Please note:
We do not perform subsurface inspections (commonly part of the “test and treat” process). However, we partner with trusted contractors who offer this service. The test and treat process involves taking bore samples from the base of wooden poles (below grade) to check for decay. These bore holes are then treated with pesticide and sealed. If requested, we can include these findings in our final report by coordinating with the third-party provider or referring them directly to you.
